What is PSYPACT?

PSYPACT (the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact) is an interstate agreement that allows licensed psychologists who hold its telepsychology authorization to provide online therapy to clients located in other participating states — without needing a separate license in each state. It exists so that care isn't interrupted when you travel, move, or live somewhere without the right specialist nearby.

Does online therapy actually work?

Research on teletherapy has grown rapidly, and for many common concerns — including depression and anxiety — video-based therapy with a licensed clinician has shown outcomes comparable to in-person care. See the blog post 'Does online therapy work?' for a research-grounded look at the evidence.

Can I meet in person instead?

Yes — limited in-person sessions are available in Columbia, MD (Howard County). Many clients also combine the two, meeting in person when convenient and by video otherwise.

How do I get started?

Contact the practice for a free 15-minute phone consultation to see whether your needs are a good fit — and to confirm teletherapy availability for your state.
