T visa
What this evaluation is for
The T visa protects survivors of human trafficking. Applicants must show, among other things, that they would suffer "extreme hardship involving unusual and severe harm" if removed from the United States.
A psychological evaluation documents the effects of trafficking on the survivor's mental health, and can explain why trauma made it hard to cooperate with law enforcement when that is part of the case.
Who it is for
- Survivors of labor or sex trafficking applying for a T visa
- Attorneys and anti-trafficking organizations representing them
What the evaluation covers
- A trauma-informed clinical interview, paced by the survivor

Questions
Common questions
What if I can't talk about everything that happened?
That is common and expected. The interview goes at your pace, and the evaluation can describe why some details are hard to recall or share.
