Privacy policy

This page explains what information this website (alignedpsych.com) collects when you visit it or reach out through it, why, and where that information goes. It covers the website only. If you become a client, how your health information is handled in treatment is described in the practice’s Notice of Privacy Practices, which is a separate document.

When you send the contact form, it collects what you type: your name, email address, what you’re interested in, and, if you add them, a message and your primary insurance. Please don’t include clinical or medical details in the form; those are best discussed directly.

Along with what you type, the form sends the address of the page you first arrived on, the website that referred you (its address only), and any campaign tags in the link you followed. This shows which pages help people find the practice. It does not identify you.

Your inquiry is sent to the website’s service provider, WebsiteTherapy, and stored in an encrypted database hosted by Amazon Web Services under a Business Associate Agreement. Dr. Nguyen-Louie receives an email notification with your inquiry so she can reply. Your name, email address, interest and insurance (not your message) are also copied to a spreadsheet the practice uses to keep track of inquiries.

To keep out spam, the form is screened automatically. The screening looks at signals such as how quickly the form was filled in and the domain of the email address, not your name or message. Your internet (IP) address is used briefly to limit repeated submissions and is not saved with your inquiry.

The chat window on this site is an automated assistant that answers general questions about the practice. Your messages are processed by an AI service to write its replies. The website’s platform does not save the text of your conversation. If you choose to leave your contact details in the chat so that Dr. Nguyen-Louie can follow up, they are handled the same way as a contact form inquiry. The assistant is not a therapist and cannot help in a crisis. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it: which pages are viewed, how people arrived, the general area they visit from, and the type of device and browser. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. It also records when someone taps the phone number or email address, or sends the contact form, as a count. What you write is never sent to Google Analytics.

The website’s platform also counts taps on the phone number and email address, with the page they happened on. It keeps only the count, never who tapped or what was written.

You can block these cookies in your browser’s settings, or use Google’s Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Blocking them won’t affect how the site works.

This site has no advertising pixels or remarketing tags (for example, from Facebook/Meta or ad networks), shows no ads, and does not sell or rent visitor information.

Besides the Google Analytics cookies above, the site keeps a small note of the page you first arrived on and the referring website in your browser’s session storage, so the contact form can include it. It is cleared when you close the tab.

Like most websites, this site’s hosting provider (Vercel) automatically records technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and keep it secure.

If you email or call the practice directly, your message reaches the practice’s own email and phone service. The website is not involved.
